What it is, and which game to run

The Ashen Rookery is a viewer role-playing and loot game you run on your channel. Viewers opt in, explore, take on encounters, and collect gear that you author and tune. It rewards the people who show up, and it gives you a set of dials to shape how that feels.

Pick the game that fits

There are two games, and they share the same ideas but run in different places.

The local game runs on your machine and plays in your chat. Viewers use chat commands, and everything lives in an encrypted database on your computer. Start here if you want to run the game yourself with no extra setup.

The cloud game runs as a Twitch Extension. Viewers play in a private panel, and an overlay can show their avatars on stream. It needs the Extension installed on your channel.

The two are independent: each has its own content, and progress does not move between them. You can learn one and carry what you know to the other. The local vs cloud page lays out the differences feature by feature.
