Enable the game and let viewers join

The game is a Pro feature, and it is rolling out through the Alpha preview ring. Your channel needs Pro and needs to be in the ring before the game turns on. Viewers always play free.

Turn it on

Once your channel qualifies, enable the game in the app. The first time it starts, it creates its own store: the local game builds an encrypted database on your machine, and the cloud game provisions its tenant. You do not set up a database by hand.

Viewers opt in

No one is enrolled silently. A viewer joins with the join command, which creates their character, and they can leave at any time to remove it. Until a viewer joins, the game does nothing for them.

That opt-in is the line between a lurker and a player, so it is worth calling out on stream: tell your chat the command, and the first few joins usually pull others in.
