Keep rarity readable
Lean on the word and shape of a rarity, not its colour, so every viewer can tell tiers apart.Colour alone is not enough to tell rarities apart. A viewer with low vision, colour-blindness, or a dim monitor can miss the difference between a Rare and a Legendary if the only signal is the hue.
The rarity badge already carries three signals at once: the tier name, a distinct shape, and a colour. Keep all three when you show rarity, and lead with the word. In chat, name the tier in the reply text, for example "an Ember Shard (Rare)", so the information survives even as plain text.
The same rule holds on overlays and in your own graphics: pair every colour with a label or a shape. It is the difference between a game everyone can read and one that only works for some of your viewers.
