Use pity so dry streaks feel fair
A pity tier turns a run of bad luck into a promise, not a punishment.Random loot means some viewers hit a dry streak. Without a safety net, those viewers are the ones who stop playing, even though the odds were working as designed.
Set a pity tier on your loot tables. Each roll that misses the tier raises the odds of reaching it on the next roll, and the counter resets once it pays out. The run of bad luck becomes a promise that a better drop is coming, rather than a wall a viewer bounces off.
Pity is per viewer and per table, so one viewer's streak never spends another viewer's luck. Pick a tier that is a genuine reward but not your rarest, so pity smooths the mid-game without handing out top-tier gear for free.
